Before I had a digital camera, I used polaroid film to measure the impact of this or that light.
I recall the thrill of peeling the polaroid paper apart to find the picture after it was exposed and had cooked. It wasn’t always perfect but when you had gotten it right it was good and gave you a good feeling.
Polaroid captured unique moments between camera and subject, moments more often than not that were fleeting and unrepeatable, and which we would try and fail to recreate on film.
